Hypernet Welcomes Our New Advisor: Jonathan Padilla

We are thrilled to welcome Jonathan Padilla as an official Hypernet Labs advisor!

Jonathan M. Padilla is a native of California. He currently serves as CEO and Co-Founder of Snickerdoodle Labs; a venture-funded startup focused on building the metadata layer of Web 3.0 and empowering individuals to take control of their data. He additionally serves as a Co-Founder and Director of Stanford’s Future of Digital Currency Initiative that has brought together blockchain and traditional tech firms to advance central bank digital currency.

Jonathan previously served as the Global Head of Blockchain Strategy at PayPal. His team led efforts to launch, buy, sell, and hold crypto and position PayPal as a market leader adopting blockchain and cryptocurrency.

In his past, he has worked with both JD.com and Barrick Gold Mining in helping develop their nascent blockchain efforts. His previous work on digital asset regulation has been used by the Financial Stability Board and earned him a spot on the 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 List in Law and Policy as well as a spot as a senior fellow at Oxford’s Centre for Technology and Global Affairs where he worked to advance regulatory research for the blockchain space.

Jonathan graduated from Harvard College with a degree in government and from Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government with a Masters of Public Policy as a Startup Nation Scholar with a full scholarship. He was a 2018 Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University, where he earned a Masters in Economics and Management. There he wrote his thesis on blockchain and cryptocurrency regulation.
